Community Involvement

Cancer Climb HCDS Law FirmCD&S professionals and staff are committed volunteerism and community involvement.  For instance, CD&S supports the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Youth Assistance Foundation, a non-profit organization that sponsors programs for at-risk youth, including an annual Christmas Toy Drive, the 21st Century Youth & Community Theater, Camp Future Force, the STARS program, Project B.R.A.V.E. and a Youth Boxing Team.

For the past several years, CD&S has been a proud participant in the annual softball tournament hosted by the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel Young Lawyers’ Division.  All proceeds from the softball tournament benefit the Devereux foundation of Arizona, a non-profit organization providing services for individuals with emotional, developmental & educational disabilities.  CD&S attorney Alison Christian served as the AADC YLD President from 2009-2010 and during her tenure she helped raise over $10,000 for Devereux.  Determined to make sure that every dollar raised went directly to Devereux, Ms. Christian also implemented new policies that ensured all expenses would be covered by outside sponsors and the AADC. In addition, every year in February, Team CD&S participates in the Annual Climb to Conquer Cancer at South Mountain Park in Phoenix.  The Climb to Conquer Cancer is a one-day event sponsored by the American Cancer Society in several western states.  In addition to the firm’s donation, team members solicit donation from friends and family members to support the ACS in its quest for a cure for cancer.
